This research investigates design parameters for crowdfunding mechanisms in the context of participatory budgeting. In this lab experiment we test the influence of dynamic feedback and personal budget on investments and overall welfare gain as well as the emotional arousal of participants. Whereas previous research on emotional arousal focused mostly on investment decision-making in competitive games like auctions, this research investigates emotional arousal in the context of the cooperative funding of public projects.
